The greatest Love…
Valentine’s Day is filled with expressions of love—flowers, chocolates, and carefully written words—but true love is not just a fleeting emotion. It is a choice. The greatest act of love in history was not based on a feeling but on a deliberate decision.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
God chose to love us. He didn’t wait for us to deserve it. He didn’t base His love on our actions, our worthiness, or His emotions in the moment. He made a choice. And because of that choice, we are forever loved.
Jesus Chose Us
As a Beliefs Trainer, I often help people recognize and replace the lies they’ve believed about themselves and about God. One of the most damaging lies people carry is that love is something they must earn or that it can be taken away when they fail.
But when Jesus went to the cross, He made a final and unshakable statement: “I choose you.”
- He chose to endure suffering so we could be free.
- He chose obedience to the Father so we could be reconciled.
- He chose us, knowing every flaw, every mistake, and every weakness we would ever have.
His love wasn’t an emotional impulse. It was a commitment, a covenant, a choice.
Choosing Love Transforms Us
Because Jesus chose love, we now have the power to choose love too. Love is more than what we feel in a moment—it’s how we respond, how we forgive, how we extend grace, and how we stand in truth.
When we align our beliefs with God’s choice to love us, we can boldly declare:
- God’s love for me is not based on my performance; He has chosen me (Ephesians 1:4-5).
- I am loved with an everlasting love, and that will never change (Jeremiah 31:3).
- I choose to love others with the same love God has given me (John 13:34).
Our declarations shape our hearts. When we speak truth, we strengthen our ability to choose love even when circumstances challenge us.
Encountering His Love Today
One of my greatest passions is creating spaces where people can encounter God’s presence—whether through worship, soaking prayer, or gathering in community. But encounters with God are not just about feeling His love; they are about receiving the truth that He chose us first.
Today, on Valentine’s Day, I invite you to pause and reflect on His choice to love you. Let Him remind you:
“You are not just loved—you are chosen. You are not forgotten—you are wanted. You are Mine, and nothing can change that.”
Choosing Love in Every Season
Jesus’ love was not a momentary feeling—it was a lifelong commitment. And now, He calls us to love in the same way.
- To choose love when it’s hard.
- To choose hope when life feels uncertain.
- To choose to believe that we are fully accepted, no matter what.
So today, let’s not just celebrate love—let’s choose it. Let’s choose to believe God’s love for us, walk in His truth, and extend that love to those around us.
Happy Valentine’s Day—loved, chosen, and completely His. ❤️
